According to TVLine, NBC’s “Quantum Leap” has a premiere date of September 19, at 10:00 p.m. ET, right after “The Voice.” The original pilot episode, written by former showrunners Bryan Wynbrandt and Steven Lilien, will air a few weeks into the show instead of the first episode. According to EW.com, Episode 3 will most likely be the first episode that airs. According to Deadline, the show’s production schedule has been extremely tight, and despite changing showrunners, there’s been no sign of any pause in filming.
Other than the basic synopsis, the producers and showrunner are keeping it close to the vest when discussing the show. In an interview with The Companion, new showrunner Martin Gero was asked if Dr. Sam Beckett was still lost in time and responded with, “The fact that he got stuck in time forever is a huge part of the show and a huge part of the basis of the mythology that I can’t wait to tell you more about once you’ve seen the first episode.”
“Quantum Leap” is being executive produced by Gero, Dean Georgaris, Deborah Pratt, and original “Quantum Leap” creator, Don Bellisario.
